Who we are

ParentPrice is an independent UK price-checking service. For data protection purposes we are the controller of the limited information described below. Contact: hello@parentprice.com.

What we collect

• The product links you paste and the results we produced for them, so the service works and so we can investigate when a result is wrong.
• A random session identifier stored in your browser, which lets us connect the searches in a single visit. It contains no name, email or account.
• Basic technical information sent by your browser with any web request, such as approximate location derived from your connection and the page that referred you.
• Which results you clicked through to, so retailers can attribute a purchase to us and so we can see whether the service is useful.
• Anything you put in an email to us, for as long as we need it to answer you.

What we don't collect

We don't ask for or store your name, address, payment details or account credentials. We never see what you spend at a retailer beyond, in some cases, an order value reported back to us for commission — never who you are or what you bought as an individual.

Why we're allowed to

We rely on our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the service, and in being paid for the referrals we make. Where the law requires consent for particular technologies, we'll ask for it before using them.

Cookies and similar storage

We use a small amount of storage in your browser to keep the session identifier described above and to make the site work. We do not currently run advertising trackers on this site. If that changes, we'll update this notice and ask for consent where it's required.

Sharing

We share the minimum necessary with the suppliers that run the service on our behalf — hosting, database and the affiliate networks that handle retailer referrals. We don't sell your data. Retailers you click through to have their own privacy notices, and once you're on their site you're covered by theirs.

How long we keep it

Search and click records are kept while they're useful for running, debugging and being paid for the service, and are removed or aggregated after that. Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our use of it. Email hello@parentprice.com. Because we don't hold accounts, it helps if you can tell us roughly when you used the site. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
